Privacy Policy

This policy covers the VisionMixer application and the visionmixer.app website, published by visionmixer.app ("we"). The short version: VisionMixer is a native app that does its work on your Mac. Your video, audio, recordings, streams and AI prompts never pass through our servers. What we do collect is the minimum needed to sell licenses, deliver updates and run the optional Cloud Shows service — and we don't sell or share any of it for advertising.

1. What never reaches us

• Your video and audio. Mixing, compositing, the virtual camera and the audio drivers all run locally. Recordings are written to your disk. Live streams go directly from your Mac to the destinations you configure (Twitch, YouTube, custom RTMP and so on).
• Your AI prompts and keys. AI overlay generation uses your own API key for the provider you choose. Prompts and results travel directly between your Mac and that provider; the key is stored locally on your Mac. We never see any of it.
• Third-party accounts you connect. If you sign in to a service such as Twitch inside the app, the credentials stay on your Mac and the app talks to that service directly.
• Payment card details. Checkout is handled by Stripe; card numbers go to Stripe, never to us.

2. Buying a license

When you buy, Stripe processes the payment and we store what's needed to operate your license: your email address, the license key, payment references (not card details), and activation records. To enforce the 2-Mac limit, the app sends a device identifier and app version when it activates or renews its license lease. We email you your license key and receipts using Resend, our email delivery provider. The 14-day trial requires no account and no email address.

3. The app's network traffic

• Update checks. The app periodically fetches our update feed (via the open-source Sparkle framework) to see if a new version is available. This is an ordinary web request that includes the app version.
• License checks. Licensed copies periodically renew a signed license lease, sending the license key, a device identifier and the app version. Nothing about your shows, sources or content is included.

4. Cloud Shows (optional)

If you subscribe to Cloud Shows, remote guests join through our servers so their video reaches your mixer. For this service we store show metadata (show names, start and end times, participant display names as entered, and connection minutes used for billing). Guest video and audio are relayed in real time and are not recorded or stored by us. For diagnostics we may derive a country-level region from a connection; raw IP addresses are not stored. If you never use Cloud Shows, none of this applies.

5. The website

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic (pages visited, referrer, approximate region). This uses cookies.
• Newsletter. If you opt in, we store your email address and use it only for VisionMixer news. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• Downloads. We count downloads by version and country-level region to understand adoption; we don't keep IP addresses in those records.

6. Services we rely on

We use a small set of processors to run VisionMixer: Stripe (payments), Google Firebase / Google Cloud (website hosting, database, license service, and the Cloud Shows media server), Resend (transactional email), and Google Analytics (site statistics). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We do not sell personal data, and we don't run third-party advertising.

7. Retention and your choices

License and purchase records are kept while your license is active and as required for bookkeeping. Cloud Shows metadata is kept for billing history. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. To access or delete data we hold about you, email support@visionmixer.app and we'll take care of it.

8. Children

VisionMixer and visionmixer.app are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes
