License Terms
Last updated: July 7, 2026
These terms cover your use of the VisionMixer application ("the Software"), published by visionmixer.app ("we"). Installing or using the Software means you accept these terms. The short version: buy it once, use it on two Macs, don't redistribute or tamper with it — and a few extra rules apply to third-party components we ship.
1. Your license
- A purchased license lets you install and use the Software on up to 2 Macs that you own or control, for any personal or commercial production work.
- The license includes 12 months of updates from the date of purchase. Renewing updates afterwards is optional; the version you own keeps working without renewal.
- The 14-day trial grants the same rights, time-limited; after it ends the Software remains usable with a watermark on video output.
- Output you create with the Software — recordings, streams, snapshots — is entirely yours.
2. What you may not do
- Redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense the Software or your license key.
- Modify, translate, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble or recompile the Software or any third-party component distributed with it (including the NDI® runtime), except to the extent applicable law expressly permits, or as expressly allowed by an open-source license identified below.
- Remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notices or labels contained on or within the Software or its components.
- Circumvent the license or trial mechanisms.
3. Third-party components
The Software includes components licensed from third parties. Full license texts and acknowledgements are available in the app under Settings → About.
- NDI® — this product uses NDI® technology; NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB (ndi.video). The NDI runtime is licensed, not sold, and the restrictions in section 2 apply to it. If you build products or workflows on top of VisionMixer that interact with its NDI features, they must maintain NDI compatibility and comply with the NDI® SDK license.
- Virtual audio drivers — based on BlackHole source code © Existential Audio Inc., used under the GNU GPL v3.0. These drivers are separate components installed to the system's audio plug-in folder; their complete corresponding source code is available on request from support@visionmixer.app. Section 2's reverse-engineering restrictions do not apply to these GPL-licensed drivers.
- Open-source libraries — HaishinKit (BSD-3-Clause), Sparkle (MIT), Logboard (MIT) and Swift Atomics (Apache-2.0); notices are reproduced in the app's About screen.
4. No warranty; limitation of liability
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from its use — including lost profits, lost recordings or interrupted broadcasts. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
5. Refunds
Try the full product free for 14 days before buying. If something is wrong after purchase, email support@visionmixer.app within 14 days and we'll make it right.
6. Changes
We may update these terms for future versions; the terms shipped with your version keep applying to it.
