Using VisionMixer in meetings

VisionMixer's headline trick: your produced show becomes the camera and microphone in any meeting app, and the call comes back as a mixer channel with no echo.

One-time setup

Install the audio devices and camera extension (Getting started). Then in Teams / Zoom / Meet device settings:

Meeting setting Choose
Camera VisionMixer Camera
Microphone VisionMixer Mic
Speaker VisionMixer Speaker

How the audio flows

  • Your program mix renders into VisionMixer Mic — the call hears your mics, clips, sound effects: whatever is on AIR.
  • The call's audio arrives on the VisionMixer Speaker channel. It defaults to AIR off, MON on — you hear the call in your monitors, but it is never sent back to the call. That's mix-minus: no echo, ever.
  • Want the call audible in a recording or stream too? Flip its AIR on.

Tips

  • Turn off the meeting app's own noise suppression and auto-level if you're doing your own processing — two processors fight.
  • Keep the Mac's default output on VisionMixer System (see Audio) so meeting chimes and notifications ride a fader you control.
  • The camera feeds at 1080p. If the meeting shows a frozen frame after an update, toggle the virtual camera off/on from the deck or Status tab.
